Creation Lectures by Dr Stew Turner

    If you have been taught that Biblical Creation as described in Genesis is not scientific and that Evolution is a “proven” fact of  science, you are not alone.   Nearly all public schools teach Evolution as a fact, yet, based on an August 2000 Zogby poll, 80% of the American public favor the teaching of both Evolution and Creation or only Creation in our schools.  When the truth comes out, the support for teaching only Evolution in our schools comes mainly from academia and the organizations that control the curriculum in our public schools and colleges.  So, most of us have never heard the scientific evidence for Creation.  Now you have an opportunity to hear the evidence for the truth of Creation from both a Biblical and scientific basis.  You can also learn the real truth about the shaky foundation for Evolution in this series of classes.
    The written word of God clearly reveals that the true history of the world begins with six days of Creation followed later by the cataclysmic Genesis Flood of Noah’s day.  This global flood was primarily responsible for the present Geologic Column with its many layers of sedimentary rock over 75% of the earth’s land containing billions of animal and plant remains called fossils.  In addition, the Genesis Flood negates the need for  billions of years of earth history because the Flood clearly explains the catastrophic demise of all the fossils contained in the earth’s rocks.  These two events, Creation and the subsequent  Worldwide Flood, form the basis for the world we live in today.
    As part of the explanation of the scientific basis for these two events from a Biblical perspective, you will learn a lot about many different topics which either support or explain God’s work of Creation and subsequent Flood Catastrophe as described in Genesis.  The  topics are presented in a series of up to 16 Sessions tailored to the needs of your organization.  Each of the 16 Session Topics is listed on a separate attachment in this booklet.
    Bible-believing Christians should take the Genesis record literally if we really want to honor God and all of the inspired words of the Bible.  If we don’t accept Genesis 1-6 as written, it could become difficult  for some to accept John 3:16 or other words of Jesus.  Remember, Jesus, himself, said in Mt 5:18 that the early books of  the Bible were divinely inspired and then reiterated later in Jn 10:35 that “scripture cannot be broken”.
    This series of lectures will provide many of the answers to your questions on the scientific and biblical basis for Creation.  The material presented is largely based on exhaustive searches of  many respected (and some obscure) technical publications over the last several years including material by the Institute for Creation Research and Answers in Genesis.  Some material has been gleaned from the Internet.  You will not find any of  this recent material in most  text books or general publications;  however, all material is fully authenticated and documented.  The result is a fast paced, colorful series of (up to) 16 sessions, or lectures, that have proven to be interesting and applicable to both teenagers and adults of all backgrounds.
    Every effort has been made to keep the lectures understandable, yet scientifically accurate.  Each session will be complemented with high quality visual aids using PowerPoint Slides with a digital projector.  Handouts for your notes and retention can be provided for each session if desired. Even if  you are firmly convinced that Science has “proven” the Earth to be 4.5 Billion years old, you should seriously consider attending these classes so that  you can strengthen and defend your belief in Creation as described in Genesis.  Several new, credible, scientific evidences will be given to show that  the Earth is on the order of  thousands of years old, not Billions.
    Sessions (Lectures) can be scheduled to meet the specific needs of your organization.  These  lectures have been successfully presented to combined groups of Sunday School classes, Youth Groups, Youth Retreats, Christian Schools, Home School groups, and selected church groups.  A group size larger than 25 is encouraged in the local area but groups of 75 or more are suggested when travel is required to a site more than 50 miles from Aiken, SC.  Two or more small churches can arrange a combined meeting at a common location for the lectures.  Dr. Turner does not charge any fee for this ministry but a small honorarium is acceptable  to help defray travel costs.
